{Wooden Palisade}
{Mott&Bailey}
{Norman Keep}
{Stone Castle}
{Royal Castle}

Welcome to my Castle guide of Lords of the Realm2. I will give information on the different types of castles in the game. Be aware, these are NOT from the Seige Pack.

Palisade

We will start off with a simple Wooden Palisade. These Small buildings are good for very little more than the tax boost.They cost 400 wood, and 40 stone. They can hold only a small army of 150 troops. They boost taxes by 50%. I suggest you not build these, especialy in an area with the danger of other Nobles. If you build them, make sure the countie is safe. I suggest at least a Mott and Bailey in every county you have.

Mott and Bailey

A Mott and Bailey is alright. Not great for a big defence, but good to have when you start and have little supplies. These are also good to have in the back of your territory. They can hold still only a small army of 200 troops, and boost taxes by 75%. It takes 800 wood and 80 stone to construct these.

Norman Keep
The Norman Keep is a good Castle to have in any territory. They can hold 300 troops and boost taxes by 100%. It takes only 200 wood, but 1000 stone to construct these. They provide a good defence against most attacks. For a while. I suggest these for most territorys possible.

Stone Castle
This castle is great! It can hold 400 troops, boosts taxes by 125%. It takes 400 wood, and 2000 stone to make these. They have a great defence. But one BIG drawback is that you dont have to break the walls down to get the flag. So defend this castles wisely.

Royal Castle
This Castle is a tough castle. It is very difficult to bring this place down. When you attack it, your battering rams cannot knock down the second door, so catapults must be used. I suggest you put one of these in a Capitol Countie, and also in any countie that is a strategic place. It is worth the price to have these in such places. It takes 800 wood and 3000 stone to make them. They boost taxes by 150% and can hold 600 troops. I myself have never lost in one of these, even in multi-layer games. I just keep 600 Archers inside, and its over.
